I assume you mean [tex]\sqrt{73}[/tex], not [tex]73[/tex], which is not irrational.

Notice that [tex]\sqrt{64}<\sqrt{73}<\sqrt{81}[/tex]. This means [tex]8<\sqrt{73}<9[/tex].
