x = 11 - 4/5
x = 55/5 - 4/5
x = 51/5 or 10 1/5

or u can do it this way..
x + 4/5 = 11.....multiply everything by common denominator of 5
5x + 4 = 55
5x = 55 - 4
5x = 51
x = 51/5 or 10 1/5
